GREENVILLE CVB ACHIEVES ACCREDITATION 

Greenville Convention and Visitors Bureau Among Select Bureaus Worldwide to Achieve Accreditation for Industry Excellence

The Greenville Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has been awarded accreditation from the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP). DMAP is an international accreditation program developed by Washington, DC based Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI). In earning the DMAP accreditation, organizations such as the Greenville CVB, communicate to their community, buyers and potential visitors that their organization has attained a significant measure of excellence.

"Achieving accreditation is great validation of the CVB's daily work benefiting our community," said Bogue Wallin, CVB Chairman. "Greenville is among the first 100 CVBs worldwide to receive accreditation." There are 85 accredited organizations. Accreditation offers a competitive advantage to local CVBs, distinguishing those committed to industry excellence. "The accreditation of Greenville Convention and Visitors Bureau underscores its dedication to providing exceptional leadership and commitment to the professionalism of destination marketing organizations across the globe," said Christine Shimasaki, DMAP Board Chair. "The accreditation assures customers that their business in good hands."

DMAP accreditation involves a rigorous process of demonstrating compliance with 54 mandatory standards and 33 voluntary standards that cover a wide variety of topics including governance, finance, management, human resources, technology, visitor services, group services, sales, communications, membership, brand management, destination development, market research, innovation and stakeholder relationships.

The Greenville Convention and Visitors Bureau is a not-for-profit organization that is responsible for promoting the greater Greenville area as an attractive destination for meetings, conventions, trade shows and leisure travelers.
