The 36th Annual Henry's Dealer Show returns to Greenville for the sixth consecutive year, beginning tomorrow. The event is January 10-13, 2008 and will be held at the Carolina First Center.
This private show brings more than 700 major manufacturers and vendors displaying a wide range of fishing tackles, camping, and hunting and shooting sports equipment will be in attendance. The show is expected to draw over 1,000 retailers from all over the country.
"We are excited that Henry's has continuously chosen Greenville for their show," said Ryan Herron, director of sales for the CVB. "It is especially gratifying since January is usually a slow time for the tourism industry, in general," he added.
The more than 4,000 attendees are already arriving to Greenville, occupying over 5,000 hotel rooms with Hyatt as the host hotel and overflowing into 16 other properties around the Upcountry. The event is anticipated to generate close to $5 million in direct economic impact to Greenville and Upcountry, South Carolina.
Henry's was founded in 1970 in Morehead City, NC, where it originally supplied fishing tackle shops along the beaches and Outer Banks of North Carolina. Now a part of Big Rock Sports, which includes the industry's top five distributors, Henry's remains in Morehead City, NC, and is one of the sporting goods industry's largest full service distributors of fishing tackle, camping, and hunting and shooting sports equipment. The company currently supplies over 7,000 sporting goods retailers throughout the Atlantic Seaboard, Gulf Coast and Eastern United States, as well as the Caribbean, Central and South America and Western Europe.
"Henry's is a quality company that is very popular in our region, and we are pleased that they are holding their annual show again in Greenville," said Herron. "As one of our largest clients, we look forward to the growth of this long-term relationship with Henry's and remain positive in seeing the show's return in years to come" he added.
